SPRING 2022 COVID PROTOCOLS
APLL strives to maintain a safe and uninterrupted playing season this spring for our players, their families, and coaches.
Additionally, as a youth athletic organization permitted to play on Fairfax County maintained fields, APLL cooperates with Fairfax County Department of Health (FCHD) in pausing and quarantining persons when a COVID-19 exposure has been reported.
For Covid exposures or positive tests, we are following CDC guidance:
Situation | Status | Action to Take |
If your player has been exposed with a meaningful contact to Covid-19 |
And you are fully vaccinated (2 shots of Pfizer / Moderna or 1 shot of J&J, plus a booster shot) |
You may continue to play as long as you are asymptomatic and wear a mask for ten days after exposure. We recommend testing on day 5 (or if/when symptoms present) and following guidance below if you test positive. |
And you are not fully vaccinated (see description above) |
You may not play for five days from date of onset of symptoms or positive covid test. Test on day 5. If negative, you may return to play with a mask on day 6 until day 10 as long as you remain asymptomatic. |
If your player tests positive for Covid-19 |
And your symptoms resolve within five days | You may not play for five days from date of becoming symptomatic or testing positive for covid. Test on day 5. If negative, you may return to play with a mask on day 6 until day 10 as long as you remain asymptomatic. If positive, you may return to play on day 11. |
You have symptoms | Remain in isolation for the full ten days and return to play on day 11. |
